Yesterday, Aquinas and Beyond reached 2000 free subscribers.
That’s crazy. I know it’s kind of annoying to say things like “I never thought I’d be here,” but it is definitely true to say that I didn’t think I’d be here by now, having only written for about 4 months. The success has been incredibly exciting, and for that, I’m super grateful. Thank you so much.
I created Aquinas and Beyond to help normal Catholics (and non-Catholics!) understand Catholic philosophy, from the Thomists to the Personalists and everyone in between. As Aquinas and Beyond keeps growing, I’m looking to expand my offerings, especially as they relate to premium membership.
To that end, I really want to work to provide a philosophical introduction worth paying for so that I can continue to do this and you can keep learning to understand the world and your faith better. So I am excited to announce not one, not two, but three new benefits for paid subscribers, which will be going live next month. These will all be in addition to the normal premium posts that come out every two weeks.
1. Audio notes for each post
I will begin providing an audio version of every post I create, free or premium. If you are looking to listen to my writing while cooking, walking or doing the dishes, this is the option for you. But aside from just reading my post, I will also include further thoughts at the end of each audio version. I will mention further reading suggestions, answers to potential objections, and explanations of adjacent philosophical discussions. It will be a bit more personal, and a little less formal. I am really looking forward to it.
So just to review, this means that premium subscribers will now get bonus content for every single post.
2. The Summa Theologiae Read-Along
I have already mentioned Crusade for Manliness’s Summa Theologiae book club, and I am going to start it in March. But while I read, I will be taking notes, providing commentary and offering explanations for all premium subscribers. I can guarantee that there will be at least one of these posts per month, but my goal is to eventually provide more. Honestly, it will partially depend on how many premium subscribers I have.
In any case, if you have ever wanted to read Aquinas’ Summa but feel intimidated, this is your chance to read it with me! The first edition will come out next month.
3. The Catholic Philosopher in a Year Plan for ALL Founding Members
In January, I launched the Catholic Philosopher in a Year plan, a reading plan to get a good foundation in the Catholic philosophical tradition in just a year. I love it, and I enjoy sharing it. That is why I have decided to give it to ALL founding members of Aquinas and Beyond. You can upgrade to become a founding member below. Just as a reminder, all founding members also get to request a personal reader’s guide, within reason:
Of course, my free subscriber content will remain the same. You will still get a free post every Friday, Free Catholic Thought every 15th of the month and occasional extra posts, too. This is more content for paid subscribers, not less for the free ones.
Whether you decide to become a premium subscriber, or just like reading my Friday essays, thank you so much for being one of my first 2000. It has been legitimately mind-blowing, and I cannot wait to see where God takes us.

Aquinas and Beyond

I've stepped up to Founding Membership, and look forward to the journey together, but in addition I'm going to ask you also to pray for me the way St Thomas prayed for his students and colleagues to grow in knowledge, wisdom, love and holiness
Congrats on the Milestone and the journey is still only beginning. I know how much work you are putting into this, and it is appreciated.
